Running Out Of Energy? How To Get Some Pep Back Into Your Step

If you find you are running out of energy before your workday is through, there are ways you can put some pep back into your step. Visit your doctor first to make sure there are no medical reasons why you are feeling tired. If you get a clean bill of health, read on for some helpful tips.

Coffee

Coffee is the drink of choice in the morning for many people, and it really can help wake you up and give you that boost of energy because it has caffeine.  Besides waking you up, coffee also offers some health benefits. A study done by Korean researchers of over 25,000 people that drink coffee found that moderate daily consumption can lead to a decreased risk of coronary artery calcium.

According to the University of Scranton, coffee is a great source of antioxidants, which help to protect the body from free radical damage that can be caused by exposure to chemicals such as pollution and smoking. You also may lose some weight by adding foods full of antioxidants, which can help you have more energy. Eat more whole grains, nuts, vegetables, fruits, fish, poultry, and meat to add some antioxidants to your diet. Check out stores like 11th Street Coffee for your daily fix of coffee.

Yoga

Some simple yoga moves can provide you with stress relief, and give you some energy. If you have never done yoga before, you may want to sign up for some yoga classes. The instructor can teach you some deep breathing exercises, and moves to help with energy loss. If you do not want to take a class, you can purchase a yoga mat and do some moves at home.

Sing

Whether you are a great singer or you cannot carry a tune, singing can instantly reduce your stress levels, which in turn can give you energy. Choose one of your favorite upbeat songs and belt away. Do this at home or your car unless you want everyone to hear you.

Gum

A professor at the University of Rhode Island studied the effects of chewing gum, and found that it helps to reduce calorie intake, and increases your energy. Make sure you chew sugar free gum, however. You do not need the added sugar in your diet, and it is harmful for your teeth.

Besides doing all of this, make sure you exercise each week to boost energy. You should also drink enough water, as being dehydrated can make you feel tired.
